Friday's thoughts

I am almost ready to stop watching American Idol, or hope for new judges. And if I see Tatiana one more time, I most definitely will unplug. My favorite so far is probably Alexis or Lil, and I like Danny. It seems to me that they are picking people based on things other than voice- I mean, seriously- Megan?? They say she has "quirks" but what they really mean is "irritations"! Oh- enough ranting. I really do not like this season at all. It seems like one big pity party on people- single parents, blue collar workers, and I better stop before I go overboard on stereotypes. Where is the actual talent?

We change the clocks this weekend. I am soooo glad!!!! Winter is so dreadful sometimes with so much darkness- I can't wait for more sunshine!!! Although it is snowing right now, I know that spring is just around the corner.

Long time no write!

Last time I wrote, I had just made the decision to go back to school. Six months later, I am almost done with my first term. I have taken Teaching Health, Literature, US History, Constitution, and finishing up with Philosophy. My core teaching classes start in April, and I will be taking them for at least 2 years.
It has been really difficult trying to manage family, school, and volunteering. I have not cleaned the house 'really well' since I started school, and there is a perpetual laundry pile. The only scrapping I have done has been at scheduled crops (thanks Misty Mae) and I miss that outlet! I did start to play with making bead jewelry, but I haven't been one to wear big gaudy jewelry so I am focusing on simple items and mainly natural stone bracelets.
I recently became the Read and Succeed Program coordinator for the elementary school - it is an amazing literacy program using volunteers to help children read better. I also started volunteering daily in the reading resource room- helping children who are extremely behind in their reading skills. I am have the time of my life! My decision to become a teacher is reinforced everyday, and I love working with the children.
David and Chris are still the loves of my life- all is well with our family.
